In the fourth week of October the team of the second Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau scientific expedition launched sounding balloons and drones for the integrated observation experiment of the Southeast Tibet alpine environment. The researchers acquired data lon the temperature profile, relative humidity distribution, air pressure, wind direction and wind speed as measured from the surface to 30 kilometers height in the atmosphere. The newly collected data will then be combined with Fengyun satellite data, numerical weather models, statistical analysis, and diagnosis analysis to obtains high temporal and high-resolution models and 3-dimensional profiles of the layers in the Earth's atmosphere.
