The Xichang Satellite Launch Centre in southwest China's Sichuan Province will host around 20 launch missions in 2020, including two satellites of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS). Established in 1970, the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre is one of three major space launch centers in China and the busiest one: 142 launches with 160 satellites took off from there. Currently, a new launch pad for next-generation rockets is under construction at the centre.
