After the Tianqin-1 satellite was launched as a secondary payload together with the main payload CBERS-4A on 20 December 2019, 6 key technologies have been tested over the past 5 months, including high-precision inertial sensing and micro-Newton propulsion, both of which are necessary to detect gravitational waves in space, said Luo Jun, President of Sun Yat-sen University and an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. "The test results are better than the mission requirements," Luo said on 21 May.
