The regional finals of the Space Universities CubeSat Challenge, an international contest for mini satellites and payloads made by university students, concluded on 11 October in Beijing. 3 teams from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing Institute of Technology and Dalian University of Technology were champions at the finals, which included participation by 36 teams from Chinese universities.

Most equipment on the Zhurong Mars rover stay powered on during the current one month long phase of sun transit. For Mars, the sun transit happens about every two years. When it occurs, Mars is on the opposite end of the line of sight Mars-Earth with the Sun in between, making the two planets temporarily invisible to each other.

Beidou applications have been more and more integrated into core infrastructure across industries including finance and power generation, while multiple provinces and regions across China plan to create an integrated Beidou industrial ecosystem. In 2020, the total output value of China's satellite navigation and location service industry with BDS as its core technology reached 403.3 billion RMB (62.59 billion USD), an increase of 16.9 % compared with 2019.

On 7 October, the CZ-2F with the Shenzhou 13 spacecraft on top has been transferred to the launch area. The facilities and equipment at the launch site are in good condition, and various pre-launch function checks and joint tests will be carried out as planned. The launch of China's next crewed space station mission can be expected around mid-October.
