Gamma-ray Burst polarimeter on China's Tiangong 2 space lab completes research objectives

The Gamma-ray Burst (GRB) polarimeter POLAR on China's Tiangong 2 space laboratory has completed its high-sensitivity measurement of GRBs and fulfilled all of its research objectives, according to China Manned Space Engineering Office on 15 January.

The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) released a big data sharing platform on 15 January, providing scientists and officials worldwide with information about the Earth. The platform will provide global users with systematic, diversified and standardised big data through a data, computing and service integrated information sharing system.

CGWIC Signs Agreement with Satellogic to Launch Earth Observation Constellation of 90 Satellites

China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC) announced on 15 January a Multiple Launch Services Agreement (MLA) with Satellogic, the world's first vertically integrated geospatial analytics company. CGWIC will launch 90 of Satellogic's spacecraft from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center. The first launch - scheduled for later this year - will deliver a dedicated payload of 13 of Satellogic's spacecraft to Low Earth Orbit on a Long March 6 (LM-6) rocket.

Moon sees first cotton-seed sprout

One of the cotton seeds carried to the Moon by China's Chang'e 4 probe is the first ever to sprout on the Moon. Images sent by the probe showed that a cotton sprout had started to grow, though no other plants were found growing.
