Shenzhou 14 crew busy with house keeping and extensive clean-up of the Station

Earth observation satellite Gaofen 12-03 launched

China sent the new Earth observation satellite Gaofen 12-03 into space from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre on 27 June at 23:46 BJT. The satellite entered the planned orbit successfully. It will be used in a variety of fields including land surveys, urban planning, road network design, crop yield estimation and disaster relief.

Shenzhou 13 crew holds first press conference since return from space

The SZ-13 crew held its first press conference since returning from space 74 days ago, in Beijing on the afternoon of the 28 June. Jing Haipeng, Deputy Director of China's manned space programme's astronaut system, briefed on the recovery situation of the SZ-13 crew and the follow-up plans. The taikonauts are in good physical and mental health, and their medical test results are fine. Their muscle strength, stamina and bone density have recovered well, as expected. They will restart regular training once all recovery tasks are completed. The trio shared their thoughts and reflections on their space trips when meeting with the media. Ye Guangfu congratulated Italian astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti for her 2nd space mission. Ye and Cristoforetti once trained together.

Jing Haipeng and Claude Nicollier for Sino-Swiss Space Science and Technology Cooperation

As part of the Sino-Swiss Space Science and Technology Cooperation Online Meeting, Jing Haipeng and Claude Nicollier held an online exchange with university students from the two countries on 30 June. Jing Haipeng, now Head of China's Astronaut Corps, was the 1st taikonaut to have flown on 3 missions: SZ-7, SZ-9 and SZ-11, while Claude Nicollier was the 1st Swiss astronaut to have flown on 4 space shuttle missions, including 2 servicing missions to the Hubble Space Telescope. The 2 shared their rich experience in space flight and talked about their understanding and feelings of space exploration and cooperation.
