South Africa joined the space programme of the Brics nations on Tuesday in the first substantive project in space co-operation between the member countries.
A statement from the South African National Space Agency (Sansa) said the country joined the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB), the State Space Corporation “Roscosmos” (Roscosmos) in Russia, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the China National Space Administration (CNSA) to create the Brics Remote Sensing Satellite Constellation.
