The launch of the CZ-4B rocket on 21 September included the use of re-used grid fins to guide and locate fallen parts of the first stage more accurately. Those grid fins were recovered from a CZ-4B launched in 2019. After ensuring that the structure was complete, scientists repaired its heat-resistant coating to make it reusable, sources with the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation said. According to the company, the grid fins used in the 21 September launch narrowed the range of the landing areas by more than 85 percent.
