Per 30 August, Zhurong has spent 100 days on Mars and explored 1,064 m across the planet's surface. From mid-September until early November, the Zhurong rover and the Tianwen 1 orbiter will switch to stand-by mode. Because of the alignment of the Sun with Earth and Mars, the probes will experience high level of electromagnetic solar radiation. Additionally, the distance between Mars and Earth will be at its maximum. These conditions will make communication between the probes and ground stations difficult.
