The remote sensing satellite Yaogan 36 was launched on board a CZ-2D carrier rocket on 15 October at 03:12 BJT from the Xichang Satellite Launch Centre. The satellite successfully entered the planned orbit.

Leonard David summarises the known information in an article on his webportal Inside Outer Space: "According to Russia’s TASS news agency, the forthcoming inking of a formal agreement on the ILRS was detailed by Anatoly Petrukovich, head of Russia’s group of ILRS experts. Petrukovich discussed details at the now underway XIII Moscow Symposium on the Study of the Solar System, as also noted by the informative Novosti-Kosmonavtiki news site."

China launched the S-SAR01 satellite on 13 October at 6:53 BJT. The CZ-2C rocket took off from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre. The environmental satellite has entered the preset orbit. By obtaining 5-m resolution S-band radar image data, the satellite will support disaster prevention, reduction, relief, and environmental protection. It will also serve natural resources, water conservancy, agriculture, forestry, earthquakes, and other fields. Its primary users will be the Ministry of Emergency Management and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.

The 3rd live class from China's Space Station was held in the afternoon of 12 October and was delivered by SZ-14 crew members Chen Dong, Liu Yang, and Cai Xuzhe to students on Earth. The main classroom was located at the Technology and Engineering Center for Space Utilization, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The class was also being attended by students from other 3 classrooms in Yunnan, Henan, and Shandong. It is the first science lecture from the Wentian lab module. The previous 2 lectures of the "Tiangong Class" series were delivered by the SZ-13 crew from the Station's core module Tianhe.

The daily positioning volume of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS) during the National Day holidays exceeded 150 billion times, an increase of more than 50 % compared with the pre-holiday period, China's tech giant Baidu said on 12 October. The data came after Chinese online map Baidu Maps announced an official switch to the Beidou priority positioning on 30 September, with daily positioning volume exceeding 100 billion times for the first time. The company said 97.81 % of positioning had achieved BDS priority.
