The latest issue of the Go Taikonauts! iPad App newsletter is online. The pdf version will follow until 27 February.
The cover story of this issue of Go Taikonauts! is about the historic Chang’e 3 lunar mission and gives details on Chang’e 3’s development history, the spacecraft design and payloads, as well as mission activities in the first month. The gallery has some stunning images taken by the Chang’e 3 lander and Yutu on the Moon.
The 9 and 10 January saw probably the biggest ever get-together of leaders of national and international space agencies. GoTaikonauts! tries to give the highlights of the Heads of Agencies Summit in Washington, as well as the International Space Exploration Forum and Conference. We believe what happened in Washington may decide the future of the US-China relationship in space, and therefore we also provide an analysis on U.S.-China space cooperation.
This issue also includes the second part of our reports from the IAC 2013 and the UN-China workshop one week before: Two articles, one with an interview of Leon Chiang, the Vice President of HEAD Aerospace, a Chinese space trading company, and another article with the impressions of a European, Jack van Loon, and an African participant, Proven Emmanuel Adzri, of the UN-China workshop.
Another interesting piece is the extract from the annual press briefing by Thomas Reiter, ESA’s Director of Human Spaceflight and Operations. He brought the latest news on the efforts between ESA and China in the consolidation of space cooperation. Reiter’s explanations are completed by an interview with Frank De Winne, Head of ESA’s Astronaut Centre Department, on the current status of the work in the European Astronaut Centre and particularly with respect to cooperation with China.

Dear Readers of the Go Taikonauts! newsletter,
From 23 - 27 September 2013, the Go Taikonauts! team has been participating in the 64th International Astronautical Conference 2013 in Beijing. During the course of the week, we have been able to conduct numerous interviews, collect valuable materials, had exciting discussions and followed breaking-news plenaries and presentation. Each of us came home with a treasure of information which we will be pleased to share with our readers. Go Taikonauts! is going to dedicate the issue no 10 to the outcomes and results of the 64th IAC 2013. To provide the best quality of journalistic work and analysis the publishing will be shifted to end of November 2013.

This issue no. 10 of Go Taikonauts! is a special newsletter dedicated to the IAC 2013 with reports, interviews and images brought from Beijing. The enormous amount of material the Go Taikonauts! team could collect in Beijing made it hard for us to keep up with the usual quarterly rhythm for publishing. However, the volume of articles we can provide now will make up for the long waiting time.
Please, read our cover story which summarises all the key information, so as to give our readers a clear picture of the future Chinese space programme. Congress participants and astronauts were so kind to give us their very special impressions from the event in China's capital.
Also, Go Taikonauts! interviewed officials from APSCO (Asia Pacific Space Cooperation Organisation), China Great Wall Industries Corporation, and Head Aerospace Ltd, as well as people from other countries. You can read the interviews with APSCO and CGWIC in this issue. And we will publish more in the next issue.
Before IAC 2013, the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA), and China jointly hosted the Workshop on Human Space Technology in Beijing. The Director Human Spaceflight for the IAA explained to GoTaikonauts! the objectives and outcomes of the workshop.
Another interesting article reflects on the history of the UK-China space cooperation which is more extensive as one would think. Have a good read!

Today, the latest issue of Go Taikonauts! was published. The focus is on the Shenzhou 10 mission, China’s recent manned space mission. The cover story is giving a comphrehensive summary of the mission milestones but also an outlook on the near-term plans for a Chinese space station. The article is illustrated with the latest rendering of the planned Chinese Space Station CSS by Adrian Mann and the most detailed Shenzhou and Tiangong fact sheet by Diemar Roettler/Raumfahrt Concret. Another interesting report was written by a Chinese tourist who witnessed the Shenzhou 10 launch at the launch site. In this context, three more articles are looking into the aspects of international space cooperation with China, mainly related to manned space flight activities. A special feature certainly is an interview with Liu Yang, the first Chinese women in space. Furthermore, the German Aerospace Center DLR contributed an article on the results of the German-Chinese cooperation project SIMBOX. This article is complemented by some personal perspectives of Chinese and German scientists who participated in the research.
