The First Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Aerospace and Aerodynamics successfully conducted a wind tunnel experiment, in which the second-stage aircraft freely detached from the first-stage aircraft of a two-stage-to-orbit (TSTO) space plane, according to a statement the academy released on its WeChat account on 21 October.

24 couples took part in a mass wedding ceremony on 20 October 2019 on board of Yuanwang space monitoring ship. The ceremony was held for staff members who work for China's Yuanwang fleet of space tracking vessels. The couples joined in the flag-raising ceremony on the deck of one of the vessels.

On 17 October 2019, Mr. Zhang Kejian, the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industrial and Information Technology (MIIT), Administrator of China National Space Administration (CNSA), and Member of APSCO Council visited the APSCO Headquarters in Beijing. Zhang Kejian emphasized that, “Cooperation” is the core concept. APSCO shall play an important role in the international scale for the peaceful use of outer space to benefit the people in the Asia-Pacific Region; China as the Host Country, is delighted to share resources with the Member States by means of capacity building and data sharing.

Ran Chengqi, director of the China Satellite Navigation Office, said at the first China-Central Asia BeiDou Cooperation Forum, a sideline event of the seventh China-Central Asia Cooperation Forum that kicked off in Nanning, capital of South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region that China will possibly launch all BeiDou-3 satellites for the completion of the global network of its BeiDou Navigation Satellite System into space by the end of June 2020, about half a year ahead of schedule. To meet the tight launch schedule, satellite developer China Academy of Space Technology said it streamlined the development process of BDS satellites, halving the development cycle of a single satellite model to 18 months. After the completion of the constellation, the stable operation, application promotion and international cooperation will be given highest priority.

The achievements and future chances of Sino-Italian aerospace cooperation were addressed at a seminar on 18 October during the Festival of Diplomacy running in Rome from 17 to 25 October. Hosted at the Chinese Embassy, the ad-hoc event was among some 80 seminars and meetings providing overviews on crucial diplomatic topics offered by the festival, which is organised under the patronage of Italy's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Officials and experts from both countries discussed the strategic value of the cooperation in the space sector, highlighting the progress made so far.
