In an article for EarthSky, Paul Scott Anderson had a closer look on the information which is so far known about the “gel-like” substance Yutu 2 rover has discovered in a crater on the far side of the Moon. He states: "It sounds intriguing, but details are still scarce." However, he makes a qualified evaluation of the possible options and hopes that soon better details will become available.

Chinese space designers have devised a pocket-size device they say can extend small satellites' life spans and help prevent them from becoming hazardous space debris. The ion liquid electric thruster was developed by the 206th Institute under the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corp and has undergone in-orbit tests on a Chinese small, experimental satellite launched earlier this year.

Satellogic, has become one of the first international providers of space imaging in China, as private space companies look to the country’s commercial satellite industry as a new frontier. The Buenos Aires-based company backed by Chinese technology conglomerate Tencent, has signed a rare deal to provide earth observation data of the central province of Henan to Chinese company ABDAS, which works with the provincial government to analyse crops, forestry and weather. Satellogic’s early entry and investment from Tencent have given it an unusual advantage over other foreign companies in the expanding Chinese market, where regulatory restrictions remain an obstacle to international deals, according to analysts.

Chinese net users tipped their hats to Indian space scientists and encouraged them to continue to explore the universe after the country's second moon mission lost communication with the ground station. "Space exploration is being chased by all human beings. No matter which country has made a breakthrough, it deserves our praise, and those who have temporarily failed also deserve our encouragement," said a net user.

Egyptian and Chinese teams announced on 8 September the start of the implementation phase of the China-funded "MisrSat II" satellite project. During the kick-off meeting, which was held at the Egyptian Space City near Egypt's new administrative capital, both sides signed the documents of launching the project that is funded by the Chinese government.

Doug Messier of Parabolic Arc reports from MAKS-2019, where LandSpace Technology Corporation Ltd. (LandSpace) announced that the company is seeking and accepting payloads from around the world for the maiden launch of its proprietary ZhuQue-2 (ZQ-2) launcher powered by a LOX/LCH4 liquid-propellant rocket engine (LRE). ZhuQue-2 has been designed as a low-cost "universal" solution for commercial launch needs for global customers.
