Hindustan Times reported today, that China received a Chang'e 4 payload proposal from India in response to a letter by Xu Dazhe, Head of CNSA in 2015. CNSA invited major space nations to participate with piggy-back payloads to the Chang’e 4 lunar mission. The Indian payload did not make it through the evaluation process. ISRO did not comment on this report by Hindustan Times.

Wu Xiangping, 58, speaks fast, walks fast, and eats fast. For him, distances are measured in light years. An astronomer and academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wu is currently engaged in the Square Kilometer Array (SKA), an international project to build the world's largest radio telescope. The SKA will eventually consist of thousands of dishes and up to a million low-frequency dipole-type antennas to be deployed in Australia and several African countries. The total linkage will create a collecting area of about one square kilometer.

On 10 March, China sent a new communication satellite into orbit from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province. The "Chinasat 6C" GEO satellite was launched at 0:28 a.m. Beijing Time by a Long March-3B carrier rocket. It will provide high-quality radio and TV transmission services. Chinasat 6C covers the region of China, Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific island countries. The satellite was developed by the China Academy of Space Technology, and will be operated by the China Satellite Communications Co., Ltd. It was the 300th mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.

Chinese women are playing a more significant role in the country's aerospace programs, working as astronauts, helping develop aeromedicine and Mars exploration, according to an expert. Pang Zhihao, national chief science communication expert of space exploration technology, told media that female astronauts have unique advantages in both psychology and physiology. They are more emotionally stable and more capable of enduring loneliness. Pang also maintains that women have better work efficiency as they are more considerate and have better superior communication skills than men.

Development and construction of the CASIC's Hongyun low-orbit broadband communications satellite network, is on a track. The first Hongyun satellite now in orbit will soon start a trial run to demonstrate how high-speed internet services from space can work, according to Ma Jie, Party Secretary of the CASIC Second Academy, which developed the system. "The first Hongyun satellite has conducted communication tests with ground control. These tests were successful in establishing a space-based internet connection and proved that the Hongyun network will allow online browsing, video display and use of the WeChat instant messaging service," she said on the sidelines of the second session of the 13th CPPCC National Committee in Beijing.

Chinese researchers have constructed an high resolution urban meteorological system for accurate forecasting of the Beijing area. The integrated system of systems is using data on Beijing's urban buildings, urban land use and meteorological observation, has a horizontal resolution of one kilometer. The prediction system accurately simulated the evolution of the near-surface meteorological elements including temperature, humidity, wind and rainfall. It can predict the energy consumption of buildings, as well as estimate the changes of indoor temperature and humidity of each floor over time.
