Chang'e 5 samples reveal how volcanism took place on Moon

A Chinese group analyzed lunar samples returned by the CE-5 mission and proposed a new mechanism for how young volcanos took shape on the cooling Moon 2 billion years ago. Scientists previously speculated that the elevated water content or radioactive elements in the lunar interior might have driven volcanism in the late stage of the Moon's life. But the CE-5 data found its mantle source region both dry and lacking in heat-producing substance.

China's deep-space exploration laboratory recruits young talents

China's deep space exploration laboratory launched campus recruitment, aiming to attract more young talents to devote themselves to the country's deep space exploration. A total of 36 posts in computing, automation, aircraft, and artificial intelligence are open. Co-established by the CNSA, Anhui Province, and the University of Science and Technology of China, the laboratory is headquartered in Hefei, the capital city of Anhui. It started operation in June 2022.

LandSpace's TQ-15A methalox engine completed 1st full-system test

China's largest-thrust vacuum liquid oxygen and methane engine, developed by LandSpace, has successfully completed its full-system test firings which lasted for 20 seconds. The engine maintained stable operations throughout the test, media reports said on 19 October.
