Chinese private company iSpace sent suborbital rocket SQX-1Z into space on 5 September at 1:00 p.m. from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China.
The SQX-1Z was developed by Beijing-based private rocket developer iSpace. The company, founded in 2016 also has a research center in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province.
The rocket carried three CubeSats, miniature satellites, for two Chinese commercial companies. After entering its preset orbit, the rocket will release two satellites for testing, and the other satellite will be parachuted to Earth, according to a statement by the company.

Miao Jian was born in Shanghai in May of 1977. As the chief technician of the National Master Skills Studio, she has been involved in the development and production of key components for launch vehicles, tactical weapons and spacecraft.
Miao has devoted herself to the aerospace industry for 23 years, and her progress was accompanied by the process of China's reform and opening-up. She said: "As a frontline skilled worker, I may not know which spaceships the precision-machined parts I made will ultimately be used on, but I still feel proud to be a member of the country's space missions. I do know that my efforts will contribute to the reform and development of China's space industry."

CASC published a plan, which aims at CASC becoming a world-class aerospace enterprise between 2020 and 2030, and supporting the modernization of national defense and the armed forces. The roadmap outlines that China will launch a series of significant aerospace projects over the next three years, including construction of an unmanned moon research station, as part of the efforts of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) to transform China into a major power in space. For that, the CASC corporation will effectively support economic, scientific, technological and military development in the second stage between 2030 and 2045.

China's National Space Administration and the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB) celebrated the 30-year anniversary of their joint space program, the Sino-Brazilian Terrestrial Resource Program, at the Chinese embassy in Brasilia Wednesday. The two parties announced their sixth project, the Cbers-4A remote sensorial satellite, which will monitor deforestation in the Amazon region and elsewhere in the South American country starting next year.

China and Italy are preparing for the world's third intercontinental quantum communication test as early as September, allowing scientists to have a better understanding of this hackproof technology's applications across great distances in space. Pan Jianwei, chief scientist for China's quantum-science satellite, which goes by the nickname "Micius", revealed the news on the sidelines of the 8th International Conference on Quantum Cryptography in Shanghai on 27 August. The test will be conducted using several ground stations in China and Italy's Space Geodesy Centre in Matera - a distance of more than 8,000 kilometers.
